University of Waikato – Strategic Property Plan
The University of Waikato has consistently achieved high rankings in a world where education delivery is being enhanced by technology, and learning is evolving towards real-world, interactive engagement – meaning campuses are utilised in different ways.
To maintain the quality of delivery and adapt to changing requirements, the University engaged RDT Pacific’s Capital Intelligence team to gain insights and recommendations to better utilise their property space to meet present and future needs.
The team worked across university faculties and divisions to understand their needs now and into the next 10 years and used RDT Pacific specialist space modelling tools to understand the gap between the current space portfolio and predicted future needs.
Close engagement across university faculties ensured the recommendations were tailored to respond to the unique demands and trajectories of the different schools.
The resulting Strategic Property Plan incorporates the University’s strategic goals and objectives, and provides a framework to maximise space, optimise operational efficiency, and guide investment while achieving desired learning outcomes for their Kirikiriroa Hamilton and Tauranga campuses.
The RDT Pacific strategy also provided a roadmap to unlock some potential significant savings and improve long-term sustainability.
The RDT Pacific Kirikiriroa Hamilton team were engaged due to an ongoing relationship with the University of Waikato and their extensive experience across the education sector.
