A combination of size, location and potential led City Logistics Co. Limited, part of Mayfair Group, to add 19 Druces Road Wiri to its portfolio of Auckland last mile logistics investments.

The property presented a strategic investment opportunity for City Logistics Co. (CLC) with its substantial land area and existing improvements in a top location near Auckland Airport.

CLC engaged RDT Pacific to manage technical due diligence for the site. When the purchase was settled, our role changed to Project Manager to reposition the site on a tight schedule for a new tenant.

Due diligence work and in-depth knowledge informed the repositioning work, enabling the RDT team to hit the ground running and respond to short timeframe challenges on this brownfield site.

The repositioning programme involved demolition and refurbishment of the property, including a custom-built 400 m² office building for the new tenant, a substantial upgrade of the 3,500 m² bulk store, better site space utilisation, traffic flow planning and an overhaul of essential services.

The redevelopment has been an opportunity to respond to the clients’ sustainability commitments, creating the groundwork for future green building certifications with options for carbon assessment and utility monitoring.
