Better space utilisation is an investment in future growth
When the University of Waikato wanted to better understand and utilise their property space to meet present and future needs, they engaged the RDT Pacific capital intelligence team, klu’dup.
The team worked across university faculties to understand their needs now and into the next 10 years and used data modelling of the existing space type mix on campus versus the predicted need to develop a framework.
The result, a strategic property plan, that incorporates the university’s goals and objectives and provides a framework to maximise space, optimise operational efficiency, and guide investment while achieving desired learning outcomes for their Hamilton and Tauranga campuses.
In this instance, the RDT Pacific strategy identified the University of Waikato could and should reduce its space footprint to unlock the potential for some significant savings and improve long-term sustainability.
