RDT Pacific provided Project Management services to Foodstuffs North Island for New World Pukekohe. This new format, New World supermarket was developed with significant input by the community to prioritise local suppliers and look to the future needs of its customers.

New World Pukekohe is approximately 3,100 m², with 200 m² of specialty shops and 150 car parks on a 15,725 m² site.

The unique format of this development displays New Zealand leadership in the retail sector by Foodstuffs North Island through its sustainable and considered community design.

The complex internal retail layout is non-traditional and allows customers to have different shopping “journeys” depending on the nature of their visit. The design which features natural materials, embraces a marketplace atmosphere encouraging a sense of community and social interaction. Service departments identify as individual stores and celebrate fresh food. The look, feel and finishes create a shift away from large and bland supermarket environments and the result is a more intimate retail market environment.
